I’m now back on campus after a thoroughly relaxing winter break. Highlights included spending time in the Sierra Nevada and San Bernardino National Forests, surfing and enjoying bonfires at the beach, and riding the new Silver Line and Gold Line Eastside Extension.

The high in the contiguous United States yesterday was 86 degrees in Santa Ana, which is ten minutes away from my house. Can someone remind me why I decided to go to school in Philadelphia?
I will arrive back at Swarthmore tomorrow, Saturday, evening. My last day in Irvine has included a trip to the beach, dolphins, a bike ride, visits with former teachers, shorts, and sandals.
