Springtime

Parrish Beach

Parrish Beach

The Adirondack Chairs that populate Parrish Beach came into bloom today.  If the lows would stay above forty degrees, I’d be convinced spring is here.

Hailstorm

Dark clouds behind church

Dark clouds behind church

I got caught in yesterday’s crazy hailstorm.  Walking back from church, the sky changed from blue to black in about a minute, and I started getting pelted by dime-sized hail.  At least the rain only lasted three minutes and we didn’t get any of the golf ball-sized hail that Media got – quite the squall.

The Return

Newport Beach

Newport Beach

The high in the contiguous United States yesterday was 86 degrees in Santa Ana, which is ten minutes away from my house.  Can someone remind me why I decided to go to school in Philadelphia?

I will arrive back at Swarthmore tomorrow, Saturday, evening.  My last day in Irvine has included a trip to the beach, dolphins, a bike ride, visits with former teachers, shorts, and sandals.
