Lang Opportunity Scholarship

Lang Center

I was a Lang Opportunity Scholar at Swarthmore College. This program gave me resources and support to design and complete a social action project of my design.

In the summer of 2009, I implemented greenRELAY, a project to amplify the impact of environmental justice organizations through online movement building.

To help prepare for this project, I worked in the summer of 2008 with Alternatives for Community and Environment, an environmental justice nonprofit in Roxbury, MA. I had an amazing time at ACE helping to put on their biggest annual events (Jammin’ for Justice and EJ in the ‘Hood), blogging, updating the website, meeting new friends, and attending community meetings.

Read the blog entries I wrote during my time at ACE here.
